Melbourne street art: Blenders Laneway

Here are some pictures taken in the alley next to the Blender Studios in February 2013. The alley is still covered with lots of beautiful paintings, posters, graffiti, stickers, and even some installations. Here is nice temporary one. I assume the paintings change frequently over time with people trying to fill out the few remaining open spots on the walls. It would be great to come back anytime soon! Picture gallery

Melbourne street art: Live action at Hosier Ln

On the way to the Share the Spirit Festival in Melbourne, we came across Hosier Lane, one of the most popular street art spots in the city. As it turned out, several street artists enjoyed the holiday to beautify the alley with a new 25 meter long piece. Among the artists were the Meggs, Rone, Wonder, The Tooth, Sofles, Roach and Numskull. Due to the holiday and the live action, the narrow lane was packed with people. Here are about 30 pictures taken at Hosier Lane with awesome graffiti, posters, stickers, installations, and much more! Picture gallery

The relaunch is the result of the last couple of months of setting up and extending Drupal, refining the old content and photo database, and creating lots of exciting photo specials and articles about street art. Hopefully, the site will get its full momentum again soon!

When I arrived with my push bike, somebody had already removed the construction fence so the entry was quite easy indeed. The laundry is set up in a small warehouse, the heavy washing machines have been left to rust. Quite amazingly, the walls still cover several graffiti of the

Street art alleys in the Mission

While strolling through the Mission district in San Francisco, I visited the famous street art and graffiti alleys – and just in time to see the following new beautiful mural in the making. Seeing so many different styles and artists in one place is pretty impressive. The mixture of surreal and funny characters, political statements, and old school graffiti, tags, and stencils makes you easily wander around for hours. There is also a great book about the murals and their history in the district: Mission Street Art San Francisco: Mission Muralismo. They also have many more pictures of the murals
